Cetearyl Alcohol (Cetyl Stearyl Alcohol / Cetostearyl Alcohol) is a premium-grade fatty blend used widely in natural skincare formulations as an emulsion stabiliser, thickener, and emollient. Derived from sustainable plant oils, it provides a rich, creamy texture, enhances spreadability, and contributes to the long-term stability of lotions, creams, and conditioners.

Despite the name, it’s not a drying alcohol. Instead, it delivers a soft, velvety skin feel and boosts moisturisation. It’s particularly useful for thickening oil-in-water emulsions without greasiness and leaves no waxy residue. Biodegradable and non-toxic to aquatic life.
